I think that the two database management systems that will have the highest demand in the next four to five years are the same ones that have the highest demand now, namely Oracle and SQL Server. IBM would want you to believe that DB2 is one of the top databases in use today as well. While I know that DB2 is used in many, many places, I see more demand for Oracle and SQL Server DBAs than I do for DB2. Unless something causes a dramatic shift in the next few years, I don't see why this should change.
