We are running SAP 46C using Oracle 9.2.2. My education is with Vsam and IMS (guess how old I am). I want to use the online reorg capabilities of 9i, but can't seem to find a good explanation of what is going on behind the scenes. I can find plenty on how to execute it, but not what I need to prepare for a successful completion. We used to have tech manuals with flow charts and they had arrows and boxes and the like, showing exactly what was actually going on inside. Could you tell me were to find something like that?
I'm old enough to remember flow charts, too. I still have the plastic flow-charting template that I bought when I took my first FORTRAN class!
Check MetaLink and AskTom.oracle.com for details of what happens behind the scenes. Otherwise, your best bet is to test your code before running it in production.
