Ways to export dump

I have Oracle9i running on a Red Hat ES3 machine. Because of space requirements, I can't perform a dump to another Red Hat machine. However, I do have a Windows server 2003 machine. To this end I have to create a SAMBA environment so that I may drag files over. Is there a better way to move the data? Does Oracle have any products that are more reliable than "Home Grown" solutions?
If you want the export dump on the Windows machine, why not just create it there? Install Oracle client on that Windows server. It should include the 'exp' executable. Then, configure TNSNAMES to be able to make a connection to the instance on the Linux box. Next, invoke 'exp' with the 'userid=system/manager@tns_alias' parameter. The 'exp' utility will make the connection to the database over the network and the dump file will be created on the local server.
