Upgrade patches for educational institutes

I teach in the government educational institute. A long time ago we purchased Oracle 8 for learning Oracle. Now this software is not compatible with Windows XP on IBM. Are new upgrade patches available?

I am an instructor in the government educational institute. A long time back we purchased Oracle 8 for learning Oracle in one of the courses. Now this software is not compatible with Windows XP on IBM M/C. Please advise on either the installation procedure or if the new upgrade patches are available with Oracle for educational institutes. We are not allowed to spend money on the new versions, we only can spend money for upgrades. Thanks.
The only Oracle database releases that are certified for the Windows XP Professional operating system (note that XP Home is not supported) are Oracle 9.2 and 10g (both release 1 and 2). You are able to download the Oracle database software from Oracle's Technology Network Web site. If you read the license agreement, it does allow the software to be used for educational purposes; however, I do not know whether this applies to an educational institution. You can contact Oracle directly or your local sales representative to clarify this information.
