Unable to connect to 7.3 database from 9.2 OEM

Can I use the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console utilities (e.g. performance manager, tuning pack, etc.) for a Oracle 7.3 database? I've installed the Oracle 9.2 client on my Oracle 7.3 database server to monitor performance -- and as per the help, I've created & assigned the select_catalog_role. There was no problem in installing 9.2 OEM, however I'm unable to connect to the database from this OEM. I get the required privileges missing message. Can you please help me?
The 'insufficient privileges' message usually indicates that you're connecting as a user who doesn't have the DBA role--is this the case? If so, try connecting as a DBA. I've never used OEM with an Oracle7 database, so I don't know if the combination is supported.
