I am working in a software firm as the Oracle DBA. I need some assistance regarding my Oracle 11g Database.
We used to run Oracle 10g XE on an Ubuntu machine and it used to run without giving any load issues on the server. Later on we installed a fresh copy of Oracle 11g Standard Edition One (18.104.22.168.0) and from then onwards are experiencing server load issues on the Ubuntu machine.
Please provide me with the steps to resolve this issue.
If your database and your application usage have not changed, then going from XE to SE should not put a bigger load on your server. If I were experiencing this problem, I would rerun the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catalog.sql and $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catproc.sql scripts as SYS on my database. If that does not resolve the issue, then I would try to pinpoint the thing that is putting extra load on the server. Is it one specific process consuming large amounts of CPU?
