I'm not sure if 8.0.4 will run on Solaris 9 or not. If I had to know the answer, I'd install the software and see if it will compile. And then I'd see if I could create a database. But it should be obvious that any problems with this configuration would mean that support would not be forthcoming.
That being said, I don't know why I would have to answer that question. Why not install Oracle 9i or 10g on Solaris 9? They are supported versions for this platform.
