Running Oracle 8.0.4 on Solaris 9

Oracle RDBMS 8.0.4 is not certified to run on Sun UNIX Solaris 9. Can you tell me if 8.0.4 could run on that platform sucessfully although it is not certified?

I'm not sure if 8.0.4 will run on Solaris 9 or not. If I had to know the answer, I'd install the software and see if it will compile. And then I'd see if I could create a database. But it should be obvious that any problems with this configuration would mean that support would not be forthcoming.

That being said, I don't know why I would have to answer that question. Why not install Oracle 9i or 10g on Solaris 9? They are supported versions for this platform.
