Remotely manage Oracle 8i via Windows Terminal Services

Is it possible to remotely manage Oracle 8i via Windows Terminal Services?

Is it possible to remotely manage Oracle 8i via Windows Terminal Services?

I am currently attempting to recover an 8i instance at a remote site, which is getting a "LGWR: terminating instance due to error 227."

I realize this is a corrupt data block behind a control file so I am trying re-create the control file. However I only have a terminal services connection to this machine. This means I receive a "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error" whenever I attempt to start the SVRMGRL utility.

Is there anyway to resolve this?

Unfortunately, there is a problem when performing certain operations for Oracle 8i via Terminal Services. I always had to go to the system's console to perform these operation. The most common problem I faced was the same ORA-12560 error you are getting.
