Patch for upgrading to 9.2.0 on Windows NT

I am using Oracle 8.0.6 with Windows NT. Now I'm required to upgrade Oracle to 9.2.0. Can you explain to me which patch set I should use to upgrade my database to 9.2.0?

The Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2) Database Migration Guide is a good reference to start with. It lists the hardware and software prerequisites to installing the 9.2 software.

You can download the Oracle 9.2.0.1 database software for Windows 2000 from Oracle's Technology Network Web site, but I would recommend patching that to the latest release which is 9.2.0.8. To be able to download this patchset, you must have access to Oracle's Metalink Web site. To register for Metalink, you will need a valid Support Identifier (CSI). CSI numbers are unique support identifiers given to each customer with a current support contract.

The method of migration to release 9.2 that you choose will depend on the size of your database and how long of a production outage you have available. You can choose a direct migration from release 8.0.6 or you can also use the export/import method. The migration guide provides information on all migration methods available to assist you with choosing the best option.
