We have upgraded our Oracle 9i instance to Oracle 10g. We are now having problems with the Oracle text. For instance when we try to sync up a text index we get the error "ORA-29858: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXALTER routine ORA-04063: type body 'CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS' has errors." Is it possible that we missed an installation step?
Are there invalid objects in the CTXSYS schema? It is possible that objects may have been left invalid after the upgrade. Did you also review the upgrade log files to determine if errors were reported? There are some reported issues with Intermedia (or Oracle Text) and upgrading to 9.2 but I have not found anything specific with respect to upgrading to 10g. The suggested solution in these cases is to uninstall and reinstall Oracle Text. My recommendation would be to open an Oracle TAR and report this problem.

Can I use /var/opt/oracle/oratab to specify listener information?
We would like to migrate our database from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 10g. We would like to know the impact for our application developed using Delphi ...
I have been trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on SUSE Linux 9.0 and got the error:
"Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/...../*.mk."
