Here's my info:
net service name ENG1.COMPANY.COM
One thing to verify is that the ADDRESS in the tnsnames.ora file and the listener.ora file is correct. If that still doesn't allow you to connect, edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file to change the host name to an IP address and try connecting again.
