I am a student at Oakland University. I installed Oracle Developer Suite 10g on my PC. I was able to access the university server from my home. After one week it suddenly stopped logging into the university sever. I am still able to log in when from any of the university computers. The errors I am getting from my home PC are ORA-12535 and REM-00220. Please help. Thank you.
I don't know what tool produces REM errors, but the ORA-12535 error is familiar:
12535, 00000, "TNS:operation timed out" // *Cause: The requested operation could not be completed within the time out // period. // *Action: Look at the documentation on the secondary errors for possible // remedy. See SQLNET.LOG to find secondary error if not provided explicitly. // Turn on tracing to gather more information. If you have a Windows PC, and you recently installed Windows XP service pak 2, then your firewall settings may be causing problems with your ability to connect. SQL*Net tracing on your client will likely show the last step that your client was trying to perform before it raised the error. To enable client tracing for SQL*Net, set trace_level_client=16 in your sqlnet.ora file and then try to connect. A trace file will be generated that should contain all sorts of interesting things. I find it best to read the trace from the bottom to the top since the error will be reported near the end of the file. The Oracle documentation provides more information about SQL*Net tracing and where you will find the files involved.
