While importing an export backup of an Oracle8i database into an Oracle9i database, it completes with an error at the time of creating a trigger. The message is:
PL/SQL:ORA-00980:
synonym translation is no longer valid
SQL statement ignored
Please help me to rectify this problem.
This error occurs when a synonym points to an object, and that object has been dropped. It looks like the synonym's underlying object does not exist on import. The trigger must refer to this synonym. You'll have to re-create the underlying object or change the trigger's code to get this to work correctly.
