- Install Oracle 9.2 in its own ORACLE_HOME and patch it to 220.127.116.11
- Use either the Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) or perform the migration manually to get your Oracle 8i database migrated to release 9.2.
The Oracle9i Database Migration Release 2 (9.2) Guide available on Oracle's Technology Network Web site provides very detailed instructions for migrating a database in place. Remember to test all applications supported by this database thoroughly before performing this migration in a production environment.
