Migrating data using export/import utility

I have a 8.0.5 database, and I would like to migrate the data into 9.2. I want to use the export/import utility to migrate the data. Do I need to create the tablespaces before importing the data into 9.2?

If you perform a full export and a subsequent full import, then the import process will create the tablespace for you provided that the directory structure is still the same. The import will issue the CREATE TABLESPACE commands, but those commands will silently fail if the directories for the tablespace's datafiles do not exist or cannot be written to by Oracle.

If you have a different directory structure, then you will want to precreate the tablespace before you do the import.
