Migrating RAC database with Veritas Storage Foundation

What is the fastest method to migrate a 600 GB RAC database (9.2.0.4) using Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle on a Solaris platform to AIX using Oracle 9.2.0.7 and Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle too? Are there other ways besides using export/import? And what are the steps?

Since you are using Oracle 9i and you are moving from Solaris to AIX (changing platforms), your best option is to use export/import to move the database. That is what I would use in this case. Granted, it will take a while to export and import a 600 GB database, but this could be completed in a weekend.

Otherwise, you can create a database link from one database to another. You can then use the SQL*Plus COPY command (see this article) to copy tables across the network.
