Mapping values from 8i to 9i

I want to convert Oracle8i to Oracle9i. The problem is, I want to get a structure from Oracle8i and after modification in Oracle9i (including the primary key) I want to map the values. For example, if the Oracle8i database consists of a table with two columns, e.g., A (primary key), B and C.

After upgrading this to Oracle9i, assume I am including two more columns like A, B, C, D (primary key) and E. How to get the values of A, B and C from Oracle8i, or how to map them? And I also want to know which migration method is suitable.

I would definitely recommend reading the Oracle Migration Guide before you proceed with your upgrade. I would either use the Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) or perform a manual upgrade. Instructions for both are included in the above documentation manual. In either case, Oracle will preserve your data and your primary keys so you do not have to worry about maintaining any mappings.
