TNS-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist. TNS-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error TNS-00515: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist. What do these mean, and how do I overcome this problem? Please help me out. Thanks.
In the description of your problem, you first indicate that the database has been mounted but not that it has been opened. So it is not clear whether the database has only been mounted, or whether it has been mounted and opened.
Second, were the resulting error messages due to starting the listener or when you attempt to connect to your database? Again from your description, it is not clear if the listener started successfully or not. Normally, these error messages appear when you attempt to connect to a database but if they are occurring on listener startup, then you may want to take a closer look at the ADDRESS parameter in your listener.ora file, in particular the node name. A TNS-00515 usually indicates a name lookup failure.
