Is it OK to make a flag a fact?

I'm currently in the process of building a warehouse to store transaction details based on a star schema design. The fact table will store balances down to the transaction grain, and there will be a transaction dimension to store transaction attributes, e.g. account number, deal ref etc.

One of the transaction attributes is a flag to indicate whether the> balance is an assest or liability. I'm reluctant to make the transaction dimension a type 2 SCD, but will have no choice if the flag is stored in the dimension table.

Is it OK to make the flag a fact?
