I'm trying to install Oracle9i Personal Edition using Windows XP, but it gives me an error message: "Invalid staging area. There are no top level components for Windows NT available from this staging area." I read about a similar problem for 8i, where certification was not available. Is this true for 9i too?
can be viewed on Oracle's Technology Network Web site. You can install Oracle Personal Edition 9.2 and above on Windows XP Professional. The problem you have encountered may be because the installation files are not complete. I am assuming that they were downloaded from Oracle's Technology Network Web site or copied to disk from a CD. Download the files again (or copy them from CD to disk again) and make sure that the files are complete. Try the installation again.
