Invalid name and path error installing Oracle 9i

I'm trying to install Oracle 9i. After giving a name and a path for the ORACLE_HOME, and after clicking the next button, I get an error message that the given name or path is not valid!

There are two pathnames required on the screen in question: one for the source location of the install CD-ROM and the other for the ORACLE_HOME destination. If you're sure the ORACLE_HOME is writable by the user you're logging in as and you're logged in as an Administrator (on Windows), then it must be the contents of the source box that it is complaining about.

The installer log should also clear up exactly what it's doing and should show the path that it is checking when it displays the error.
