Installing Oracle binary files on SAN vs. internal drive

Does Oracle support installing Oracle Home (Oracle binary files) on a SAN instead of an internal drive?

Does Oracle support installing Oracle Home (Oracle binary files) on a SAN instead of an internal drive? What are the pros and cons?
You can install your Oracle software in a storage area network. The benefit to this approach is that multiple servers that have access to this part of the SAN can use the same software installation. The biggest downside is that any impacts to the SAN will impact all servers that use this ORACLE_HOME directory. While you can install the software to a SAN, it is not a recommended practice. Oracle Corp. recommends installing Oracle software locally on each server in a Real Application Clusters environment even though a SAN is available.
