Installing Oracle 8.0.5 on Windows XP SP1

I have installed Oracle 8.0.5 on Windows XP SP1. The installation finished OK, but when the system started, one error was generated by OracleStart Service: "STRTDB80.EXE." Will it get installed properly on the Windows 2000 server?
The problem is Oracle 8 is not certified for Windows XP. If you are running Windows XP, then you need to be running XP Professional -- XP Home Edition will not work. Once you have the operating system straightened out you can install Oracle 9i or Oracle 10g, but not earlier versions.
