Installation error: Oracle 8i on Linux RH 9

How can I install Oracle 8i on Linux RHL 9.0? I have downloaded it from Oracle.com. All the system requirements are matching, but during installation I received an error, "map failed." JVM could be found. Do you know what went wrong?
If the installer throws errors, check the installActions.log file for more information. I'm not sure what "map failed" refers to and I presume that you meant "JVM could *not* be found." If the JVM could not be found, then maybe you need to install the JVM. Be aware that Oracle is not supported on RH 9, but I know that Werner Puschitz has documented some workarounds to installing and running Oracle on this platform.
