Insert records into Oracle automatically

We have a SQL server 2000 Database serving in-house developed HR applications. We have Oracle9i for financial applications. Whenever a HR event occurs on the SQL server we want to insert a record in Oracle. Do you have any ideas on how we can automate this process?
You'll have to code a trigger in SQL Server to perform some action whenever a row is inserted, deleted, or updated in the SQL server table. Probably the easiest thing to do is to have this trigger stage the data in a staging table. Then create a Data Transformation Services (DTS) package that reads the data from this staging table and moves it to an Oracle database through OLE DB. You can periodically schedule this DTS package in SQL Server.
