I have Oracle 9i (server and client) on my computer with Windows XP. I have .dmp files from another server. How can I import the data to my computer? If I try the "Database tools" utility from the Enterprise Manager Console in Standalone mode, I get the message "This wizard can only be launched when the application is connected to the Oracle Management Server."
You'll want to use the imp utility. Use the following command:

imp userid=system/manager file=my_dump_file full=y log=imp.log

I always log my import session so that I can go back and resolve any errors that might come up. The above command will import the entire contents of your dump file.
