Importing Windows 2000 backup file into Solaris OS

How do I import a backup taken on Windows into Solaris?

We have one exp backup file from Windows 2000, and we have to import this file in Sun Solaris OS 5.8. What do we have to do?

In your Solaris server, you'll have to create an Oracle database. You will also have to create any tablespaces that your dump file needs to import data to. Once that is done, it is simply a matter of importing the contents of your dump file. This can be done as follows:

imp userid=system/manager file=mydump.dmp full=y log=imp.log
If there are errors, they will show up in the import log file created above. Fix the errors and try the import again.
