How to upgrade to 8.1.7

I am currently on 8.1.5, Windows NT 4.0. I am planning to upgrade to 8.1.7 and I was wondering if you have any words of wisdom. We have one production database of 22 GB. Do you have an opinion on using the upgrade utility versus an export/import to do the upgrade? Do I need to backup my data? What are the steps that I need to follow?
You should always backup your data first. There is no need to use export/import to do the upgrade; all you need to do is run the script u0801050.sql after you shutdown the database normal (or immediate), and restart the database. This could be a good time to use export/import to reorg your data, or change the block size of the database. Other then that, the upgrade is really easy. Remember to run catalog.sql and catproc.sql after the upgrade.
