This operation is actually quite easy.
- Use the Oracle 7.3 utility to create an export of the full database:
exp userid=system/manager file=full_export.dmp full=y
- Copy the dump file onto the database server. If you are using the FTP utility to move the dump file, then make sure you transfer it in binary mode.
- It is assumed that the destination database is precreated. You will also want to precreate any tablespaces that you'll need.
- Import the contents of the dump file:
imp userid=system file=full_export.dmp full=y log=imp.log
If there are errors, then you will see them in the log file that is created.
