How do we get our servers to share memory?

We're using HP-UX 11i with an Oracle 9i database. Our system is Tuxedo 8-based. In total we have about 150 processes running. Our problem is that each Oracle-process that is started when a TMS-Oracle, or one of our servers are started, it seems to draw a lot of memory. They don't seem to share memory pages at all! In total the system demands over 2.5GB of memory just to start.
Login to sqlplus as a DBA, and run the command "show sga", this will give you idea of how much memory the database is using. The individual processes are actually using a portion of the SGA. You should also take a look at the parameter "sort_area_size" that defines how much memory an individual connection will use for sorting. This could be pushing up the total memory used if it's set too high.
