Granting read and write and read-only access

I am using Oracle (9i) Client and I have created a database. I want to create users and give read and write access to the contents in the database for myself but only read access to other users. How could I do this?

I am new to Oracle. I am using Oracle (9i) Client and I have created a database. I want to create users and give read and write access to the contents in the database for myself but only read access to other users. How could I do this? Thanks in advance.
For those new to Oracle, the best thing you can do is to get yourself acquainted with your version's Oracle documentation. Click on the link for your version and then click the tab marked "Books." The links presented to you are the documentation set for your version. I highly recommend that you read the Administrator's Guide and the Concepts Guide. The answers to your questions and many others that you have not thought of yet are found there.

For your specific question, you will want to create a new user, create objects owned by that user, and then grant SELECT privileges to another user. All of this is covered in great detail in the two documents I cited above.
