Etrust Antivirus changing Oracle parameters

Etrust changes the /etc/system parameters needed for Oracle. If we try to change the etc parameters back to the Oracle-recommended parameters, Etrust Antivirus fails.

In our environment, we are trying to install Etrust Antivirus on Solaris 9. The problem is that Etrust changes the /etc/system parameters needed for Oracle. If we try to change the etc parameters back to the Oracle-recommended or the needed parameters, Etrust Antivirus fails.

Have you run into this issue? How can Etrust Antivirus and Oracle live happily on the same server?

This is something you'll have to address with Etrust. This really is not an Oracle problem, but it does affect your Oracle database. Contact the AV vendor for a solution.
