Error occurs when deleting tablespace

I'm trying to delete a tablespace. Our instruction was to perform a cold backup. I performed the backup and copy...

all of the files to a backup folder. My tablespace is located in the C:oracleoradatapracticeuser_index01. When I enter the command:

drop tablespace user_index01 includings contents and datafiles;

I get an ORA-00959 error message saying tablespace user_index01 does not exist. What could I possible be doing wrong?
Are you sure that USER_INDEX01 is the tablespace name? Query DBA_TABLESPACES to verify that you have the correct tablespace name. If that tablespace does not exist, then query DBA_DATA_FILES to verify the tablespace that this file belongs to. If this file is not listed in DBA_DATA_FILES, then the datafile does not belong to the database, and most likely, it can be removed.
