Error due to shared pool size

I am working in Oracle 9.2.0.7 under HP UX 11. I get this error very often: "error 4031 in job queue process." Is it a problem with my shared pool size?

I am working in Oracle 9.2.0.7 under HP UX 11. I get this error very often:
error 4031 in job queue process
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 27704 bytes of shared memory
("shared pool","unknown object","sga heap(1,0)","session param values")
OPIRIP: Uncaught error 447. Error stack:
ORA-00447: fatal error in background process

My shared pool size:

shared_pool_size 218103808

shared_pool_reserved_size 10905190

Can you please advise me on this?

It looks like your shared pool is not large enough to handle the workload. You can query V$SGASTAT to see the "free memory" for the shared pool. If the number is low (under 10MB), then you might want to consider increasing the SHARED_POOL_SIZE parameter. If that does not fix your problem, then consider filing a Service Request with Oracle Support.
