I just did a clean installation of W2K Server with SP2 on a 20GB HDD/NTFS partition E. Now when I'm trying to install Oracle9i, I'm getting the following error message: "Oracle Universal Installer: Error in writing to directory E:Docume~1Admini~1Locals~1TempOraInstall. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 25MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue." This is in the first stage, i.e., while running the autoplay CD. I tried looking on the Internet but couldn't find any possible clues.
I'm assuming you have already verified this, but ensure that this directory has the required free space. Also check that the user you are installing Oracle with is part of the local administrators group and can write to this directory.
You might also try removing the TempOraInstall subdirectory and starting the Oracle Universal Installer again. Alternatively, you can define a different path for your TEMP environment variable and then restart the installation process.

I have been trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on SUSE Linux 9.0 and got the error:
"Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/...../*.mk."
I'm getting errors while installing the Database Configuration Assistant.
Can I use /var/opt/oracle/oratab to specify listener information?
