Enabling 64-bit kernel after installation

We accidently did not enable the 64-bit kernel at installation time of AIX 5.2. We installed Oracle 9.2.2 Database Server and Oracle 9iAS on this machine. We had a long struggle before the application was properly configured on this machine. Can we safely enable the 64-bit kernel afterwards?
You can, but I'd recompile my Oracle executables after the kernel switch is done. To do this, change directory to $ORACLE_HOME/bin. You will find an executable called 'relink'. Type 'relink all' with no Oracle software running to recompile all Oracle software for that ORACLE_HOME. Just to be safe, make sure you have a backup in place before proceeding with this operation.
