Creating new tablespace in oradata folder

In my Oracle 10g database installation, the oradata folder is at the same level as that of the Oracle 10g database folder. I have no access to this folder. I have another oradata folder inside the Oracle 10g database folder. I have access to it., but nothing is in this folder. I want to create a new tablespace in it. Can I give the location of my dbf files there?

You can create your new tablespace in any folder or directory that Oracle has permissions to write to. The DATAFILE clause of the CREATE TABLESPACE command tells Oracle where to put the tablespace's datafile, similar to the following:
CREATE TABLESPACE new_ts
DATAFILE 'D:\oradata\orcl\new_ts01.dbf' SIZE 100M;
