Creating a global record group to keep array data available

I'm developing a portlet using pure PL/SQL technologies. I would like to create a global record group to keep my array's data available after every refresh. What are the utilities that I need to embed into my portlet so that I can use the find_column, find_group, etc. commands in the portlet? I'm using Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 database and Oracle 9iAS Portal. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
First of all record group is a data type in PL/SQL defined only for Oracle Forms, Graphics and Oracle Report. It is not available in the server side PL/SQL. FIND_COLUMN, FIND_GROUP etc. commands can only be used in that context. So, I do not know exactly how you can use these commands without using Oracle Forms.
