Connection error with Oracle 8.1

We moved the server from a NT4 domain to an active directory without renaming server. All services are OK, but I can't connect to the database.

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

I tried to modify the .ora files (tnsname, listener) to put in IP address rather than host name, but with no result.

It seems that the listener.ora file is OK; it must be running in order for you to contact to the server and get these errors. On Windows, if the services are running, that doesn't mean that the Oracle instance is started. My guess is that the instance has not started, but there's no obvious reason why. Check the alert log for that instance and verify that it has started (make sure to check the timestamps).
