Can't install JRE

I'm installing Oracle9i on Fedora Core 3. All works fine until the installer is actually starting the installation. It stops when installing the JRE.

I'm installing Oracle9i on Fedora Core 3. All works fine until the installer is actually starting the installation. It stops when installing the JRE. The installer window shows this information:

<<Installing Java Runtime Environment 1.1.8.1.0 Link pending... Copying jre >>
The progress bar stays on 0%. No disk activity is going on. Within the log file, the last entry is as shown below:
Appel action fileActions2.2.0.14.0  copyExpandedGroup
        selectedNodes =
        copyGroup = bin
        permissions = 775
        owner = null
        group = null
        copyAsText = null
        DllGroup = false

Help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

A similar problem has been reported while installing Oracle release 9.2.0.1 on Red Hat ES 3.0. Use a fully qualified hostname for the database server, otherwise the Oracle Universal Installer may hang, as seems to be the case here. The 'hostname' command should return a fully qualified name as in hostname.domain_name.
