Can I drop a deleted datafile without dropping the tablespace?

If a tablespace has two datafiles, and one of the datafiles, which is empty, is accidentally deleted, can I drop the deleted datafile without dropping the tablespace?

In Oracle 8i, if a tablespace has two datafiles, and one of the datafiles, which is empty, is accidentally deleted, can I drop the deleted datafile without dropping the tablespace?
You cannot drop the datafile without affecting the tablespace. You can resize this empty datafile to a very small size.
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '/dir/filename' RESIZE 1M;
Or, you can create a new tablespace and then move all of the tables and indexes into the new tablespace. Then drop the old tablespace.
