Calculate the execution of a query

How does one calculate the execution of a query according to the system configuration? I'm developing a Web-based application. When the query is in process, I want to display a progress bar stating the amount of processing that has gone on so that the client can easily know the process of an application without any problems.
The best way to do this is to embed calls to the dbms_application_info package in your application. You can use the set_module and set_action procedures to record information about session progress, which can then be read by the read_module procedure from another session to view the information, and use that to display your progress bar.
