Backing up a table in Oracle 9i Database Server

How to take a backup of a table in Oracle 9i Database Server?

How to take a backup of a table in Oracle 9i Database Server?
If all you want is a backup of a table, then you can use Oracle's export utility to create a dump file that contains the table's contents similar to the following:
exp userid=scott/tiger file=emp.dmp tables=emp
I would caution you that this type of backup is not a very robust strategy. It does not back up your control files or your other database objects. A more robust strategy is probably required. I highly recommend Oracle Backup & Recovery Handbook by Velprui & Adkoli on Oracle Press as a good reference to learn how to implement sound backup and recovery strategies. A backup strategy is not sound if you do not know how to use the backup to recover from a variety of scenarios.
