Are there any advantages to placing your APO cubes in their own tablespace?
You have two advantages in placing your cubes (or any other database segment) in their own tablespace. First, you can move that object easily to balance I/O among different physical disk drives. It is harder to do that if the object is in a tablespace with other objects.
Second, you can perform backup and recovery operations on just this object much easier than if the object is in a tablespace with other objects.
The biggest downside to this approach is that you do not want to have too many tablespaces as to make the database difficult to manage.
