But, in the early days, researchers noticed that distributed computing would be difficult; messages would be lost, corrupted or delayed, and precise algorithms had to be used to build an understandable system. It wasn't long after that the Condor project was born: a new system for distributed computing created by Miron Livny at the University of Wisconsin.
