InfoCyclone, a Portsmouth, N.H.-based provider of tools that accelarate data retrieval, announced its smart information retrieval solution. InfoCyclone's add-on appliance sits between the application and database servers in a three-tier environment, or between the database client and server in a client-server architecture, and monitors SQL traffic. The most resource-intensive queries are identified and removed from the database, then run in InfoCyclone's SQL engine, improving application response time without altering the database or applications. InfoCyclone will begin shipping in October and currently works only on Oracle, though future support for other DBMSs is planned.
