Key business drivers for E-Business Suite upgrades

Oracle Applications Users Group President Alyssa Johnson lists some major business reasons for upgrading to E-Business Suite R12.

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) recently announced that Alyssa Johnson is its next president. Johnson, a practice director at Alpharetta, Ga.-based Rolta International (Americas), has been an active member of the OAUG since 2003. Recently she spoke to SearchOracle about the OAUG's direction as well as business drivers and other issues for E-Business Suite upgrades.

Johnson said that one of the most important precursors to a successful E-Business Suite upgrade is making sure the organization doesn't think of it solely as a technical upgrade. It is an upgrade that stretches from executives down to the business end users. Recognizing that as one of the key business drivers leads businesses down the right path for their E-Business Suite upgrades, according to Johnson.

She added that successful upgrades mean not resting on your laurels. According to Johnson, the go-live date is not the end of the upgrade journey. It is just the beginning.

In this podcast, Johnson talks about her vision for the future of the OAUG over the next five years and then details key business drivers and possible challenges to a successful E-Business Suite upgrade.
