Backup a primary database via the standby

If you've got a standby database and you want to reduce the workload on your primary database server, you can perform backups on the standby database instead of the primary. The standby is an exact copy of the primary except that the database files may be located in a different place with a different name. The backup of the standby can be used to restore and recover the primary in needed.
