Oracle is betting that Web 2.0 technologies like blogs and wikis will have profound implications for collaboration within the enterprise. The company says its newly released WebCenter Suite, which combines Web 2.0 technologies with enterprise systems, will one day serve as the interface to its entire stack of Fusion applications. And Oracle competitors IBM and SAP have Web 2.0 plans of their own. SearchOracle.com caught up with Jim Murphy, Research Director with Boston, Mass.-based AMR Research, to learn more about Oracle's Web 2.0 aspirations. In this podcast, Murphy explains what Web 2.0 means to the enterprise and talks about Oracle's plan to leverage Web 2.0 technologies to create "a new kind of portal." He also explains what IBM and SAP are doing with Web 2.0. To learn more about the often confusing world of Web 2.0 and Oracle's place in it, download this podcast today.
