Oracle, which announced the deal at its OpenWorld conference here, will pay $4.10 per share for Plano, Texas-based MetaSolv, whose software is designed to make sure that telecommunications companies' customers are getting the right services. MetaSolv's products cover areas like provisioning, network inventory and service activation.
Founded in 1993, MetaSolv's customers include Vodafone and T-Mobile.
Oracle says the deal is subject to stockholder and regulatory approval and should close in late 2006 or early 2007.
After the deal is closed, MetaSolv employees will join Oracle's Communications Global Business Unit.
